Travel times and distances
All travel times are affected by road conditions, border crossings, detours and weather conditions, so on certain days travel times may be longer than expected, especially when there is a long distance to travel. Remember that the time it takes to travel 100 km in your home country is not equivalent to the time required to travel 100 km on African roads. In this Safari we make use of Kruger’s “Rest Camps” which are simple but comfortable rooms with private bathrooms.

Yes our safaris are safe and an experience not to be missed.

Kruger is one of two South African national parks in malaria risk areas. The other park is Mapungubwe National Park. It is important to note that the risk of malaria in both parks is generally low even in the summer months.

When is the best time to visit Kruger?

The best time to visit Kruger National Park is at the beginning or end of the region’s dry season, which runs from April to September. During Kruger’s dry season, temperatures are mostly pleasant (with night temperatures reaching 5 C and daytime temperatures reaching 28 C). What’s more, vegetation is sparse and water levels are low due to lack of rain, which means visitors will have a better chance of spotting animals. And in the rainy season (from October to March), abundant rainfall and foliage can make it difficult to observe animals.

How does tipping in South Africa work?

These are our recommendations but tipping is personal and not mandatory.

Safari Guide / Game Ranger at Camps & Game Lodges: $ 10 per person per day.

General Staff & Game Lodges: $ 5 per person per day.

Concierge: $ 1 per person per move.

Restaurants / Hotels: 10% is usual.

Guide

All our safaris are guided by qualified guides

As long as I can remember, nature, animals, landscapes and remote peoples have always had a special place in my imagination.

Being from African descendents made me hear countless stories about that mysterious continent where animals live a wild life and where the landscapes are so vast that it never meets the horizon, it was through these stories that I knew that one day my path and that of Africa would cross.
