Learn about the roots of humanity and the evolution of our species The Cradle of Humankind at Sterkfontein Caves is one of South Africa's eight World Heritage Sites and the only one in Gauteng. It is widely recognized as the place from which all mankind originated. This 6-hour tour from Johannesburg opens a window into the distant past of mankind. The site of 47,000 hectares provided the best evidence of our ancestors and their evolution over time. It is not only a place of continuous scientific discovery in our origins, but is also considered a place of contemplation: a pilgrimage that allows humans to reflect on who we are, where we came from, and where we are going. Sterkfontein caves are world famous for the fossils that were discovered there. After an extensive renovation in 2005, Sterkfontein Caves is now home to conference facilities and a top-notch restaurant, and offers improved access to caves, new walkways and a boardwalk that passes through the world-renowned excavation site. You can also visit the new scientific exhibition center, which shows geological concepts such as cave formations and fossils of ancient ways of life. He also describes important discoveries of human remains, such as "Mrs. Ples "," Taung Child "and" Little Foot "in detail, and provides a wealth of information on fossilization, paleontology and landscaping.

ITINERARY

This is the basic Itinerary for our Cradle of Humankind

09:30 AM - Pick up

We will pick you up from your hotel in Johannesburg or Pretoria

10:15 AM - Arrival in Maropeng

After arriving in the Maropeng Museum we start our voyage back in time

12:00 PM - Lunch

13:00 PM - Visit to Sterkfontein Caves

After lunch we join a guided tour of the Sterkfontein Caves to learn more about why this region is so fascinating and important for paleontologist

15:30 PM - Arrival at your Hotel

After the caves we get back in our car and start the drive back to your hotel where our services end.
